Carroll County Schools Hosts UWG Symphonic Band, Brass Ensemble and Wind Ensemble

The University of West Georgia’s Symphonic Band and Brass Ensemble performed at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center under the direction of Dr. Cale Self and accompanied by Dr. Raquel Rodriquez on trumpet. Dr. Rodriquez has performed and/or recorded with professional artists, including Tony Bennett, Indina Menzel, Adele and numerous other bands and symphony orchestras. She is also a member of Seraph Brass, a brass quintet comprised of top female brass players in North America.

The University of West Georgia’s Wind Ensemble presented its Large Group Performing Experience also at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. Kyle Willoughby, Mary Kathryn Newton, Amari Jimenez, Wesley Grace and Brianna Cunningham, students in the Music Education program at UWG, served as conductors for the event. Carroll County School System partners with the University of West Georgia to host an array of musical performances at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center.
