Central-Carroll Bands Host Pre-LGPE Concert

Central High School’s Symphonic and Concert bands, under the direction of Neil Ruby and Courtney Zhorela, and Central Middle School’s 7^th and 8^th grade bands, under the direction of Lanae Dickstein, held a combined event at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. A crowd of several hundred attendees enjoyed a variety of songs, such as Summer Resounding! by Brian Balmages, Festive Overture Op. 96 by Dmitri Shostakovich and transcribed by Donald Hunsberger, Confidence by Larry Clark, and Fire Dance by David Shaffer. Band students were critiqued by three judges in preparation of the upcoming Large Group Performance Evaluation event that will be held March 13-16 at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center.
