Original Freedom Rider Charles Person Shares His Story with Carroll Co. Students

Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center had the privilege of hosting Mr. Charles Person, retired Marine and one of only two living original Freedom Riders, along with Mr. Richard Rooker, educator and co-author of Buses Are A Comin’, for a living history presentation in celebration of Black History Month.
U.S. History and AP History students from all five high schools attended the event and had the opportunity to participate in an interactive conversation after the formal presentation.
